Howard, commander of IV corps and later, the army of Tennessee; John A Logan, commander of the XV corps and briefly, the army of Tennessee; W B Hazen, a brigade commander in the Atlanta Campaign but later commander of a division in the XV corps; Sherman; Jefferson C Davis, commander of the XIV corps after July 22, 1864; and H W Slocum, who commanded the XX corps in the March to the Sea but who did not participate in the Atlanta Campaign.
