The Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site is one of the many parks situated in the city. The park's approximately 34 acres of land covers Martin Luther King, Jr.'s home in Auburn as well as the Ebenezer Baptist Church where he and his father, Martin Luther King, Sr. both served as pastor. The Freedom Road exhibit is dedicated to the efforts of those who took part in the Civil Rights Movement. Puppet shows depict the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. They are designed to show how he strove to make our lives better and why Auburn Avenue is called "the richest Negro street in America."
