Atlanta, the capital of the state of Georgia is an interesting place to visit. You can enjoy the urban environment and see many interesting places. With many parks, historical centers and other tourist attractions, Atlanta has a great deal to offer travelers.

The Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site is one of the many parks situated in the city. The park's approximately 34 acres of land covers Martin Luther King, Jr.'s home in Auburn as well as the Ebenezer Baptist Church where he and his father, Martin Luther King, Sr. both served as pastor.

Martin Luther King Jr.'s birth home is the favorite of tourists. It is located on Auburn Avenue, just a block away from Ebenezer Baptist Church. Tours are led by a park ranger who tells visitors about the life of Martin Luther King. Each tour is limited to 15 visitors, so tours fill up quickly on weekends and holidays

The King Center, which contains Martin Luther King, Jr.'s tomb, was set up in the basement of King's home after he was assassinated in 1968. The King Center was later moved to a larger facility near Freedom Hall where people can visit and pay their respects.

The Freedom Road exhibit is dedicated to the efforts of those who took part in the Civil Rights Movement. Puppet shows depict the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. They are designed to show how he strove to make our lives better and why Auburn Avenue is called "the richest Negro street in America."
